 Please note: The applicator is sold as an empty vessel. For best results, fill with SPF30 or higher sunscreen that has a medium to thick consistency. Avoid using oils or very thin sun creams, as these may not dispense effectively.

How to Use

Step 1
Unscrew the top of your Solar Buddies applicator.

Step 2
Fill with the sunscreen of your choice (SPF30 or higher is recommended).

Step 3
Gently shake the contents towards the rollerball head.

Step 4
Roll on for smooth, mess-free sunscreen application.

Step 5
Pop the cap back on and store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

 

Best results: Use with any conventional squeeze-bottle sunscreen. We recommend sunscreens with a medium to thick consistency.

 

Important note: Sunscreen can become thinner when exposed to heat, which may affect application. To avoid this, keep your Solar Buddies applicator out of direct sunlight and always choose sunscreens with a medium to thick consistency for smooth, even coverage.

How do I use my Solar Buddie?

Using your Solar Buddies refillable sunscreen applicator couldn’t be easier! Simply unscrew the yellow vessel and fill it with a sunscreen of your choice (we recommend SPF30 or higher – see our FAQs for more guidance). Screw the head back on, give it a gentle shake to move the cream towards the roller ball, and you’re ready for smooth, mess-free sun protection.

 

Does the Solar Buddie come filled with sunscreen?

No. All Solar Buddies applicators are sold as an empty vessel, giving you the flexibility to fill them with the sunscreen brand and SPF level that works best for your family.

 

My sunscreen doesn’t seem to reach the roller ball, what can I do?

Sometimes thicker sunscreens need a little extra help. Give your Solar Buddie a good shake (just like ketchup!) to encourage the cream down to the roller ball. You can also tap the container gently against the head to help push contents into place for even application.

 

How do I clean my Solar Buddie?

To keep your Solar Buddies applicator hygienic, always hand wash with warm water (not boiling). You can also use our Solar Buddies Cleaning Sponge, designed to clean the inside of the applicator with ease. Should I keep my Solar Buddie out of direct sunlight?

Yes! Direct sunlight can cause fading, discolouration, and material deterioration of your applicator. More importantly, heat and sun exposure can thin your sunscreen, causing it to dispense too quickly and reducing its effectiveness. Always store your Solar Buddie and sunscreen in a cool, shaded place.
